Commitment...
Sycamore Child Care,
Inc. was established in 1979 as a nonprofit organization by concerned
citizens and parents who recognized the need to provide quality child
care services. From the beginning, we have been committed to providing a
fun, educational, secure place where young children can learn and develop
through hands-on activities.
Sycamore Child Care
offers a program designed to benefit the physical, emotional, social and
cognitive growth and development of each child. Sycamore Child Care is
licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services is a member of
Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C), NAEYC Accredited, a Preschool for
All site, and is a United Way Agency.
Community support...
Sycamore Child Care has operated
as a not-for-profit child care center for over twenty-five years. One of
the most significant changes in our society today has been the rapid
increase of children in child care and the cost of providing these
services. Our children come primarily from Sycamore, DeKalb and the
surrounding communities.
Community support has
a direct impact on the center and ensures that the quality of care gives
our children the best preparation to meet the challenges of the coming
years. Annually we ask the community for financial support to maintain
and improve the facility and the curriculum. The center accepts donations
of goods or services year round. Call us
to discuss how you or your company can assist. Taking care of the world's
children is one of the Noblest causes!

Learn...
Infant/Toddlers - ages 6 weeks to 2 years
The infant and toddler classrooms focus on meeting the individual social,
emotional and physical needs of each child through nurturing and loving
responsive care giving. Children are provided with a wide variety of
interesting and challenging activities adapted to their individual
development levels.
Twos
These classrooms participate in fun and educational activities and
projects that provide for independent learning, and read books, sing songs
and nursery rhymes to expand their language development. Potty training
usually begins in this room.
Preschool - threes and fours
The preschool day is structured to give the child a balance of learning
and fun, structure and choice, teacher–and self-directed activities,
group and individual exploration. In addition, children spent part of
their classroom time outdoors, playing and exploring the world around
them.

Spring Fling Fundraiser...
Running a successful
business requires quality employees doing quality work. With the vast
majority of the workforce consisting of dual income families needing
quality childcare Sycamore Child Care strives to maintain affordable rates
for services.
Sycamore Child Care has
various small fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for projects
and activities. Our Spring Fling fundraiser is our biggest event of the
year, aimed at raising funds as well as awareness of the need for quality
child care. The event consists of…
- Silent Auction
- Live Auction
- Raffles
- Music
- Food
This event is not only
a great opportunity to financially support Sycamore Child Care, but a
wonderful evening to socialize with parents and teachers at SCC. Spring
Fling is an adults-only event that is open to the general public.
Funding
received from Spring Fling is dedicated to the enrichment of care given to
our not-for-profit center. Be a part of tomorrow by helping to support our
center today. For more information, contact Michelle at 815.895.2484
or send us an email at sccforkids@tbcnet.com.
